Automatic Water Level Controllers

In continuation with the theme of ‘Water Conservation, Efficient Consumption‘, here comes the next article. Not sure how many of you are aware of a cost effective products like Automatic water level controllers that are available in the market.  We installed one such device soon after completing the construction of our sweet home! It has been running without any trouble for 4.5+ years now. Just a month back we had to replace the metal electrode cum level sensors in the overhead tank, which is understandable since these plates are bound to corrode as they will be immersed in water most of the times.

Auto Water Level ControllerThis is how the control panel looks like. The image shows clear indication of water level in the overhead tank and sump tank with lit up triangular lights. This Automatic water controllers can be extensively suitable for modern houses, apartments, commercial complex, hotels, hospitals, factories and other places whereever automation is required for controlling the water pump/motor. It controls overflowing of the water from the overhead tank. Also, it prevents dry running of the motor as well as protects the motor from the voltage surges and switches OFF the motor when the water in the sump reaches below the foot valve level. Not only to sump tanks, but it can be be fixed with bore wells too!

Features & Advantages:
* Savings in Electricity consumption since it switches off pump automatically.
* Water overflow doesn’t happen, so you are saving water!
* No manual intervention required.
* Easy maintenance, install and forget for years!
* You can switch between sump and borewell water sources.
* Auto start and off upon reaching the min and max threshold levels.
* Fall back option of manual operations allowed.
* Beeps upon any error conditions due to dry run or low voltage.
* Low cost and it is absolutely affordable for all!

Go ahead and get this installed at your residence or apartment complex. Saves water as well as the power consumption due to overflows. This gives peace of mind for not bothering about manual pump switching on and off. Here is a reminder about the giveaway contest that I am currently running on my blog, winners get to carry home Aloe Vera saplings! Hope you are taking part in it :)

I got one for Rs.900 TAkes care of Sump and Overhead tank , I recall This is Rocket science comparing with microcontrollers. The circuit can be done with few Transistors or Digital CMOS IC prefered Couple of nand GAtes and TRansistor drive and relay , With 555 IC Incoprated too. I got my Custom Design Complete Auto with out Gimiks Lights. Without doing any alteration to Existing Motor Wiring ( Just connect in parallel to Existing Motor power switch with Nutural and Earth wires. [ Complete Auto operations , With Whether proof push switch motor if required to start or stop ] Looks like Compact Electricial Starter like LK switches etc. with 2 Indiciators , Unit active watch dog Indiciation , Fault Indiciation LED RED when water is below foot valve level, I faced problem since GI pipe was used so Seperate wire was used to overcome problem. And Beeper for faults works for 4 minutes and beeper cuts off ]

And Gimiks lights is not useful in my point of view and product costs more.

Seems to be a great deal of money involved with an industry like that. Personally it’s something I wish I had gotten into myself rather than just computers and computer technology.

My 6th sem project work was an exact replica of this. Though not as efficient, lets just say it worked during the final demo ..!!! Back than thats all mattered .. ;-)

Hi Mohan,
Its really nice to have this equipment in all households as it prevents a lot of water overflowing in view of the lack of attentive minds. Could you please let me know more details like the price of the equipment and where in bangalore can we get this at an affordable price.
Thanks again for your innovative ideas, motivation and the encouragement that you provide thru your blogs….
Thanks,
Pavan.

The price when we got this done was about INR 2000/- Not sure about the price of this now. I suggest you search for such dealers in bangalore and you will get a fair idea on the players in the market. The device I have is manufactured by Seagull Technologies.
