BESCOM [Bangalore Electricity Supply Company] has improved a lot in terms of their customer service. I couldn’t believe that a govt organization has changed so much in the recent past. Today we had a low voltage issue, this was the same for all the houses in our lane. I picked up one of the electricity bill to complain about this and called their complaints lodging telephone numbers [080 – 22287118 / 22287119] and gave the location details. Customer service person was available on saturday evening at 6:30pm. He was very polite and professional in his response, gave a turn around time of 1 hr to fix the issue. Accordingly in less than 15 minutes, the issue was resolved. After some 1 hr the customer service rep called again to check the status. I was stunned and never expected a call back from them. This kind of service is completely contrary to what they were before!
May be its the fear that their govt jobs might be at stake due to a proposal to privatize the electricity board! What ever the reason be, change in their service is good for the comman man and hope they continue this kind of good service in the upcoming days as well. Good job guys.. Keep it up.
