Tandoor restaurant is located in the heart of Bangalore near MG Road. If you like North Indian, Punjabi, Mughlai, Tandoori style of food, then Tandoor is the place for you. Though I have visited this place three times including today, thought of writing a review on this restaurant since it certainly deserves a post on my blog π As always, I will split up my review under multiple categories.
Food Quality & Variety:
If you are a non-veggie, you will enjoy the food without any thoughts. Vegetarians have limited options and might not feel as satisfied as the non vegetarians. However, forget not to try out methi malai matar, dal makhni and paneer khurchan with a basket of rotis. Coming to rice items, you will like kashmiri pulav and veg dum biryani. There is no buffet service available here. Non vegetarians must try Tandoori platter and chicken kababs. They also serve a range of spicy rice items including chicken biryani and ghost dum biryani. They serve liquor too if you wish to have. You can also choose from a wide variety of delicious desserts.
Ambience :
Though this restaurant is spread over ground and first floors, it is not a very big one. You will notice a number of foreign nationals in the evenings. The interior roof works are too good lit up with proportionately, so are the murals and paintings. Polished wooden furniture all over gives it a complementing look.
Service and Cost:
The restaurant staff are extremely courteous and service oriented. In all my three visits, I have experienced a very high level of service and I could only wish they continue to provide such good service in the future as well. They have a vallet parking and booking is a must if you plan to go there in the evenings. If you don’t book and go there, you might end up in waiting for a long time for sure. Cost is slightly on the higher side and it will easily amount to 1000/- rupees for two without alcohol. You wouldn’t regret paying that much for excellently delicious food at Tandoor!

Although I am a vegetarian, and there were limited options, the food is pretty good, and the Dal Makhani would definitely blow you away! Utterly butterly and heavenly! π

The service levels in the restaurant needs to scale up again. I have been visiting this place for last 3years and haven’t had any unpleasant experience in the past. Currently am not sure why the service levels have detoriated………hope to see the restaurant scale up to past level of services soon..
