A person was standing in the middle of a road this morning with a bunch of news papers in one hand while distributing the same to commuters on the other. He was giving away those news papers free of cost! Later I got to know that he was distributing Deccan Chronicle news paper. After searching net for a while, I got to know about this promotional campaign by Deccan Chronicle.
Me being in Bangalore since childhood, I am aware of Deccan Herald, Hindu, Times of India and New Indian Express as the major news print circulation companies apart from the new papers like Bangalore Mirror, Vijay times etc., I had read about Deccan Chronicle because of a controversy that plagued Sania Mirza some time back. Then in the recently concluded IPL, the same company was the franchisee of Hyderabad team. Not sure how good the company will do in Bangalore as there are already a number of players in the same field and all are well established. They need to do something really different if at all they need to capture a major share of market here for sure! Keeping all that apart, a warm welcome to Bangalore

Hi, Even i have paid the money to deccan chornic for 1 year subscription in the month of May till today i have not received the paper after calling to lot of people nothing is happened, when ever i call the deccan chornic they say that they will send the executive to our place to resolve but nothing is happening, I was in Hyderabad and was taking the same new paper, the service was good but here in Bangalore very worst I feel that they are cheating the people. So i have decided to file a case against the Executive who collected the money and also against the company, I have already spoke to very high position people who are my relatives, They forgot there are people who are very powerful with high contact. I will be filing the case against them for cheating us in the consumer court and i am also planning to produced the receipt with my cheque detail to one of the leading news paper to publish that the company is cheating the people and they would love to publish to safe guard their company by the competitor. If any one willing to do please do the same so that we all can get the justice and will not get cheated by them anymore

I had subscribed n/p on 01.02.10 by paying cash at bangalore office, they had promised me to put daily paper from 16.02.10 to my residence(near hosur road , adugodi post, b’lore-30), but inspite of repeated follow-ups with the persons incharge, I haven’t got the paper till today(24.02.10), Finally i asked for refund & submitted application on 22.02.10 in lieu of the same, the concerned person told the agent will come to my home & give, but still nothing has happenned as such.
Kindly help me out in this regard,

I have paid but the amount to the executive for the DC Paper on 22/03/09 and i was suposse to get the paper from 23/03/09, But even after calling all the numbers available with me beloing to the executive, manager, canvasser, vendor & the main off phone which is not in use & the mobile nos which are either not answered or beeing switched off most of the time during the working hours. after may tries finally i could talk to a lady on the mobile no ( 97413 ***** ) which she promised me that i will get the paper from 1st of april & but all in wain. Finally I could talk to the manager ( 97413 ***** ) whose behaviour was very bad. Now he is promised me to send back the money on 05/04/09. Hope fully

earthwasi – well, thanks for the deccan chronicle epaper link. However, one needs to register to read the content of certain editions eg., bangalore edition. This is a bad idea. What are you going to do by storing email ids? One can always block mails from a certain address as well as mark it as spam too.
I think Deccan Chronicle should let users to view the epaper without having to register on their site. FREE as in *FREEdom*…

Naresh…. it has launched an e-paper version too… check out http://www.dc-epaper.com.. and rite now it is reaching nearly 1.5 lakh 🙂 … Hindu, IE were never any competition…it has overtaken Herald and (hopefully) will beat TOI too in the years to come.. 🙂

They are selling at invitation price of 67/- per month. So it is no more free! I have read deccan chronicle in Hyderabad, its editorial and content is good. The only bad thing about this paper is they don’t have e-paper version 🙁
