It is easy to be a critic but at the same time if someone is doing a great job, miss not a chance to appreciate their efforts. Here is a short video on ‘Mid Day Meal’ program funded and operated by government as well as private organizations. A foreign national had to capture this great documentary on the mentioned program to bring in mass awareness. People are fed up of corruption and all other irregularities when it comes to government authorities. Hope this video brings in a new dimension to think that there are few gems as well in such systems.
Came across this video recently and couldn’t hold back from sharing it with you all. Though it is a lengthy video which runs for about ~15 minutes, watch this. You will thoroughly enjoy the video and the motive.
Though I have been contributing to ISKCON’s ambitious program called ‘Akshaya Patra‘, I would strongly recommend you too to take part in this noble cause. Do visit their site for more information and how the whole system is implemented. You can make online donations by following this link

Hello,Mr Mohan
This is Justin from China,I am so impressed by what I have seen and heard there in Inida last year for 4 months, like India’s Free Lunch Program and barefoot movement by Bunker Roy,the founder of Barefoot College, which helps rural communities becomes self-sufficient,they are so amazing.I just wonder whether these can be applied to China,as China and India have lots of similarities, but it might be tough to do here, anyway,I will plan to try something smaller but influential in my city,do you have any advice, thanks

pdkamath says
Dear Mohan, thought provoking blog post which is attempting to kill two social evils, corruption in Govt sector and hunger with a single arrow. But I think, corruption is not confined to public sectors only and it has entered private sector also because it has become India’s way of life. Only a revolution can save us from this monster who is spreading his arms to all walks of life.
Mohan says
Can’t agree more Mr. Kamath! Thanks for visiting my blog and congratulate you on taking part in this noble cause of spreading the word through your blog.

Its a very good endeavour,to get awareness among people.
Iskcon society is really is doing a marvellous deed and really what i feel is
when we share or give, we really do get much more.
Lord Buddha has said, “If one knew what he was getting in giving, every one would be rushing to give.”
but alas,!
Mohan says
It is! awareness is something not up to the mark… lets spread the news.
pramod says
very rightly said.
I know of a Dr. Parikh in agra, has arrangements witha fivestar hotel,
Their extra food is delivered to Iskcon daily by him.
Similar arrangements can be tried out.
Mohan says
Awesome, could you share more info on that?
S.R.Ayyangar says
‘Akshaya Patra’ is getting funds from big quarters apart from individuals so they have no problem but there are many smaller NGO’s and even individuals who are working for this cause and needs support and encouragement too.
Mohan says
I agree, but the sheer scale at which ISKCON is handling things takes it to the top of list!
Swaram says
When I started reading ur post in the reader, I ws thinking abt the Akshaya Patra too. They serve really nice food the the childre. Yes, people need to look beyond complaining about Indian roads and corruption!!!!!

Mohan says
