India’s performance at Common Wealth Games has been the best so far with so many gold medals like never before. Total medals count is almost there at a count short of century and on this special occasion, here is my wishing to all the athletes who made our country feel proud. Thanks to each of you for all the effort to keep Indian flag flutter high in the medals tally. Amidst all the media hype, you people have shown great courage and enormous talent by clinching Gold medals in most of the events including athletics. Salutes and hats off to each of you!
Now that the games are concluding, let us hope the corrupt souls and the scam masters are punished severely. This experience should stand out as a lesson for everyone in future. [Picture was taken at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport on Independence day – 15th Aug 2010]

Yes… the real heroes have been smartly sidelined… and the poly-tricians are hogging the limelight and basking in the glory…
P.S. Congrats!!! Just discovered… you were one of the winners of the Share Life Contest…
Thanks Roshmi 🙂
ya a proud moment for us!!!
bt dont forget Sirji.. its a biggest scam of India!!!
whopping 70000 Crore siphoned off!!!
Hope the law enforcement folks grill the culprits and bring them to justice.
Good game over. Now the dirt will be out. Hope the Agencies will do a good job to throw the skeletons out!! !
Yeah… that is the most important thing to be accomplished!
Roshmi (Musings of an Unknown Indian) says
The athletes and sportspersons were the real heros. They put up a bravura performance… but sadly the poly-tricks brigade are stealing the show along with their entourage…
Hope all those tricks will take a back seat going forward!
Isnt it truly an accomplishment, of course the athletes were the true highlights of the games and they proved their worth …… so proud of them, at the end of the day the CWG had to be about sports and sportsmanship and not corruption.
can’t agree more!
Md. Muddassir Shah says
lets hope Kalmadi has not gone bidding for other games.
It is time to sit back and retrospect and take forward the learnings from this experience before we throw our hat in the ring again :);)
Aim should be to stop such characters repeating in future!
Yes, indeed. They made us proud by winning so many medals. 🙂
Yes.. the tricolor flag has regained a new momentum of glory!

nice Rangoli and good to see that CWG ended well. Now hoping auditing happens soon
It has already kicked in… both PM and home ministry are getting to the bottom of it. let us hope they catch the real whales instead of closing the case with some small fishes.

Being a Delhite, I know what we were going through before the games…so much of unnecessary negativity by the media. Fortunately, ‘JUGAAD’ worked and we did…proud Indians…all of us..:)
But now is the time to start probe into the corruption that created the initial mess. This shudn’t be forgotten.
I was of the notion that people will forget about all the mess once the event concludes, Good to see that our PM has already started acting on the subject and hope to bring the culprits under justice.
With enough nervousness ultimately the game turned out surprisingly satisfactory as far as the medal tally and Indian rank are concerned in CWG.
like the good old saying goes… Prepare for the worst, expect the best 🙂 aptly suits us for the time being!
Great! Congratulations to all winners!
Hehehe.. the great sachin said that too… 101 congrats to our athletes!
We feared the worst and look what we a got. An “India shining” moment for all of us.
Absolutely… India is shining 🙂

Yes indeed the athletes have done India proud. As hosts we can proudly say that we are number 2 in the world. Hats off to those 101 medals 🙂
#2 in the world might be a little too hyped. #2 among the territories that England had ruled few decades back would be very apt 😀
Ankit Jain says
Interesting . It was actually quite picturous .
I have critically analyzed our performance too.
Let me head over to read your article. It is easy to find flaws.. but for the time being let us push the positivity 🙂
This is great for Indian sport. We have crossed 100 barrier and at 101. We are back to second position by dislodging England. We will reach much higher in the coming days.
My best wishes too for team India to better the current record in upcoming events.
Dr Pratibha says
really i am so happy for our country and so soooooooooo proud of you.thanks for sharing this .after all indians are the best and cwg proved it.congrats to all indians and indiblogger-the family.
Absolutely, a joyous moment for all of us.
Like you said, let’s get at the scamsters now! And Mohan, we passed the century mark — 101 medals to be exact, an auspicious number too. 🙂
As a Delhiite, my only fear is that the half completed things and camouflaged structures might not get completed!
Right.. i wrote this article yesterday evening when the medal count was at 96 🙂 It is my wish too to see the incomplete work is done for the better benefit of all and for future!
Congos to all , we have made it in CWG…. *proud*
yeah, we have also screwed up by a huge margin… let us get those are kicked properly too.
Good show to our athletes. But the corruption and misuse of precious resources by the OC should not be forgotten. Punishment as per law needs to follow. In the afterglow of success the criminality of these highly paid and connected people should not be forgotten or excused.
Can’t agree more! I am so happy with the performance of our athletes… all smiles 🙂 Second part is more important to avoid such embarrassments in future.
We stole the show in shooting and wrestling esp.! Kudos to them!
Nice rangoli 🙂
Yes Swaram… I am glad with the performance in Badminton too. So many of our players making it to semis is unprecedented! Kudos to Gopichand.
With lots of adverse publicity by majority and empty stadiums during the games, let us hope this news should put to rest the negativity generated about CWG.Let the Pandora box open after the games!
Right… hope this is an excellent start for a much brighter future in the upcoming events.
